Medical device company ENTrigue Surgical Inc. has released a new commercial device for the ear, nose and throat market that the company claims is less invasive and more efficient than traditional surgical procedures. The privately held company’s SerpENT Articulating Instrument represents the first of several technologies ENTrigue Surgical is introducing on the market. The patented technology allows instruments to bend around corners, which allows for a less invasive and more efficient procedure. The company will showcase its products and technologies at the American Academy of Otolaryngology — Head and Neck Surgery Annual Meeting & OTO Expo in Chicago. The conference takes place Sept. 21-24. ENTrigue was founded in San Antonio in May 2007 with the goal of building a product portfolio around several patents and licensed technologies. The company recently completed a $6.4 million Series B financing to further develop and commercialize its technologies. Shareholders include The Vertical Group and Prism VentureWorks as well as principal investors.
