Will the Digital Lightbox product intergrate with the hospital PACS system? Will General surgeons and gastroenterologists gain access to radiological information such as MRI or x-ray patient data? Will the Endoalpha system be compatible with the Digital Lightbox?

…Olympus Medical Systems Europa and BrainLAB have signed a contract for the distribution of the BrainLAB’s Digital Lightbox to European hospitals.

The Feldkirchen, Germany-based BrainLAB said its Digital Lightbox is a platform that integrates with a hospital’s PACS and allows physicians to access and manipulate radiological information like MRI, CT, x-ray and PET data, as well as all types of endoscopic images and videos in various formats remotely—such as the OR, an office or a meeting room.

Digital Lightbox will complement the Olympus’ systems integration solutions Endoalpha and will have compatibility with the Tokyo, Japan-based Olympus’ documentation (Endobase) and videostreaming systems, offering an interactive platform for DICOM data to general surgeons and gastroenterologists, the companies said.
